Beki Ward

Supplies:

Floral/Dings Foam Stamps (Making Memories)
Creative Block #19 texture/crackle stamp (Stampers Anonymous)
Basic Brown Dye ink (Stampin’ Up!)
Mellow Moss Craft Ink (Stampin’ Up!)
Tattered Rose Distress Ink (Ranger)
Clear Embossing Powder (Stampin’ Up!)
Heat Tool
Wooden Frame (sample 6 ½” x 8” with 3” x 4 ½” opening)
Mod Podge
Off-White shade of acrylic paint
Foam Paint Brush
3 coordinating pattern/colors text-weight scrapbooking paper (I used
“Soft Serenity” Bitty Scrap pad by Provo Craft; a peach colored solid
Peach colored floral, and peach colored stripe)
Craft knife (X-Acto)
Very Fine Grit Sandpaper
Sponge

Directions:

1.  Choose a wooden frame with a broad “face” on which to create.  Lightly sand surface and wipe clean.

2.  Using the sponge brush and acrylic paint, completely cover the entire surface. Let dry, lightly sand, and wipe clean.  Apply another coat of paint and let dry completely.

3.  Tear scrapbooking paper into pieces large enough to cover the front of the frame; using Mod Podge, adhere pieces to the front; let dry.

4.  Using a craft blade, trim any pieces of scrapbooking paper that is over-hanging off the back edges of the frame.  Lightly sand the edges and surface and wipe clean.

5.  Using the Tattered Rose Distress Ink, apply directly to the frame’s surface rubbing the ink onto the front and side edges. Allow ink to deposit extra color to the torn edges of the papers as well as the outer and inner edges of the frame.  Allow to dry thoroughly.

6.  Using Mellow Moss craft ink and Floral/Dings Foam Stamps, stamp images onto the frame.  Sprinkle ink with clear embossing powder, shake off excess, and return to jar.  Heat emboss with a heat too.

7.  Ink up the Creative Block stamp using Basic Brown ink and stamp texture onto the frame’s surface; let dry.

8.  Using a sponge, antique the frame by picking up Basic Brown Dye Ink & apply to the outer and inner edges; let dry.

9.  Seal the surface with one or two coats of Mod Podge.  Let dry thoroughly and add a picture or mirror as desired.
