Be Accordion Photo Display
Peggie Wilkins
Here is a way to display your photos so that they can be seen all the time and not just when you pull out your scrapbooks. The journaling is there, just hidden behind the photos.
1. Take 1 - 2” x 3 ½” piece of paper and apply glue. Hold two coasters together and wrap the paper around the two coasters. Then add another coaster and another 2” x 3 ½” paper on the opposite side in the same way. Keep doing this until you have an accordion of coasters. 2. Adhere the 4” square pieces to the coasters on both sides.
3.
Round the
corners of the papers that are adhered to the coasters. Coaster 1 1. Apply the alcohol ink to the applicator and then bounce on the applicator on the letter “b”. Add gold leaf pen and then use the cotton ball and alcohol to blend the colors. Outline the “b” with the gold leaf pen. 2. After dry tie the three ribbons around the “b”. 3. Adhere the turquoise paper to the first coaster with foam tape. 4. Apply “e” epoxy sticker beside the “b”.
1. Adhere designer paper to picture. 2. Fold the 1” scrap of paper in half and apply to back at the bottom of designer paper and picture. Journal on the back of the layers. 3. Glue just the other half of the strip of paper and adhere it to the coaster so that the photo will flip down. 4. Attach photo turn to the hexagon label with the purple brad. Glue the label and attach to the coaster so that the picture can fold down to read the journaling. 5. Stamp words and fish onto label and adhere to picture layer. 6. Adhere flower to picture and then add pink stickles to the center of the flower.
Coaster 3 1. Adhere picture to the designer paper and then stamp with curl and swirl stamp. Let dry. (It takes a long time for the ink to dry on the paper. Be very careful if you decide to hurry the process with a heat gun as the photo may bubble.) 2. Adhere the 1” strip of paper to the top on the back and then journal. 3. Adhere just the 1”strip to the coaster so that the photo lifts up. 4. Punch out butterfly and using black marker color the body of the butterfly. Adhere to corner of photo. 5. Adhere the photo turn in the same way as in step 11. 6. Stamp words on the side.
1. Adhere photo to paper. 2. Stamp words on photo 3. Write names on labels and adhere to photo layer. 4. Adhere to coaster. 5. Adhere punch-out from corner punch to photo.
Coaster 5 1. Punch corner of paper and the adhere photo to paper. 2. Stamp boot from “Something for You” stamp set on scrap of paper. Color with prismacolor pencils and cut out. 3. Glue the boot but not the toe and adhere to the coaster so the toe holds the photo down but the photo can still be pulled out to read the journaling on the back. 4. Stamp the words on a diagonal.
Coaster 6 1. Adhere photo to paper. 2. Glue ribbon around the photo layer. 3. Stamp words in black and then in white on the ribbon. 4. Journal on the back. 5. Glue half the flowers on the coaster leaving the other half free so the photo can be lifted up to read journaling.
You could do similar things on the backside of the accordion if you were displaying it on a coffee table where both sides would be seen. Or you could just glue your photos down and add the journaling to the back of the coasters.
