INSTRUCTIONS:

1.      Prepare the CD for the reverse collage technique.  In this step, you will remove the CD label to leave a clear or translucent CD to alter.  Spray the Simple Green cleaner on the label and remover with an emery board or piece of sandpaper.  Set the CD aside.

2.      Paint the papier mache plaque with Ivory White Paint and allow to dry.

3.      The next step is to coffee stain the natural cardstock to give an aged look to the project.  Wet the cardstock with the sponge and lightly blot it with a paper towel.  Sponge on the coffee solution and move it around on the paper.  If it is too, dark blot it gently.  Using a wide paint brush, dip it in the coffee and flick some coffee onto the paper making speckles.  Let the paper dry.

4.      REVERSE COLLAGE:  Cut the paper into a circle.  Place the CD on top of the stained paper.  Use a stylus and mark a circle about a 1/16” away from the CD.  Wet the line with the small brush, and then tear along the line until the circle is away from the larger sheet.

5.        Apply the Burnt Umber ink to the Floral Collage Trio images and stamp onto the circle.  Divide the circle into thirds visually and then stamp each of the three images in one third of the paper.  When this step is completed, stamp parts of each image in the empty spaces to cover the entire circle.

6.        Ink up the single zinnia image with the Burnt Umber onto the scrap paper and cut out with the deckle scissors.

7.        Refer to photo and color all the images with the watercolor pencils.  Paint each image with a liner paint brush prepped in water and allow to dry.  This will activate the colored pencils into beautiful watercolors.  Next, color and paint the square image and allow to dry.

8.        Glue the clear CD to the stamped circle.  Use the glue stick and be sure that the entire CD is covered.  Place the CD glue side down on top of the image circle.

9.        This finishes the Reverse Collage Step.

10.    Take the papier mache plaque and apply some of the shimmer chalks to the surface to match the CD collage.  Rub the chalk into the surface with a q-tip or your fingers.  Using Burnt Umber ink, stamp some images around the sides of the plaque.

11.    Glue the CD to the plaque with the glue stick and place it in the center.  Attach the small zinnia image to the CD.  Embellish the flower with clear glass beads.  Apply the glass bead glue to the flower center and sprinkle on some beads.  Shake off any extra beads.  Using Stickles glitter glue, highlight the other flowers.

12.    Refer to photo and punch 2 holes at the top of the plaque for a hanging loop. Set an eyelet for each hole using an eyelet setter.  Measure a length of Olive green ribbon for hanging the plaque.  Run the ribbon through the eyelets in the plaque.  Start in the front on one side and knot the ribbon on the back.

13.    Cut a length of copper wire approximately 6” long and bend in half so each side has two pieces 3” long.  Attach to the plaque through the eyelets.  Knot the wire on the front under the ribbon.  Cut and curl the ends around a cuticle stick.  Refer to photo for this step.
