Instructions:

1.        To create the paint washed background paper, place the white cardstock on top of some paper towels or newspaper to catch any spills. In the disposable cup, mix a small amount of the Periwinkle acrylic paint and about a tablespoon of water. The mixture should still be as thin as water. Pour the diluted paint onto the cardstock and using both hands, swirl the paint over the surface of the paper coating with color. Allow to dry and repeat, using the Dioxazine Purple acrylic paint. Allow to dry once more. You will need two sheets of background papers.

2.        After the background paper has dried, randomly stamp the three smaller face images with the Milled Lavender and Pink inks. Emboss some of the images while leaving others plain. Create some additional images on the additional sheet of white cardstock for embellishments.

3.        Lay the papers printed side down, using a compact disc trace around it, creating two circular shapes on each sheet of background paper. Neatly trim out each circle. Using Mod Podge, adhere the paper to the front and back sides of each CD stamped side up and allow to dry.

4.        With a pencil and ruler, draw a thin line down the center of each compact disc from top to bottom on one side. Measure 1/32" from the penciled line out on each side and mark once more with the pencil. The area between the two outer markings should be 1/16". Laying the discs side by side with images pointing upright, pick up one disc and cut along the two outer lines from the top of the disc to the center hole, using the titanium blade scissors. Repeat the cut with the second disc, only this time you must cut from the bottom of the disc up to the center hole.

5.        Trim photos and adhere to the compact discs in a random fashion, avoid positioning photos or embellishments over the cut outs. Using the embossing pen, create rough "frames" around some of the photos and emboss. On the other photos paint frames with the crackle paint and dab small areas of paint for an additional distressed look in empty areas of the paper and allow to dry.

6.        Using the dimensional glue, adhere paper flowers and embellish the centers with beads. Randomly embellish the discs with additional beads where ever a filler bead is needed. Allow to dry once more.

7.        Once your discs have been completed, hold one in each hand. Position the one with the cut out area at the top so that it is flat, with an embellished surface facing you. Position the disc with the bottom area cut out so that the edge is facing you, at this point if looking at the two discs from above, they would make a "X." Slide the two discs together.

8.        Once the discs are together, punch holes into the top of each one on each side of the other disc with the Crop-a-Dile, there will be four holes. Cut the ribbon into two 18" pieces. Tie one end of the first ribbon into a hole and thread two beads onto the ribbon. Then tie off the other end of the ribbon in the hole on the opposite side of the same compact disc. Repeat with the holes in the other disc making sure that the two ribbons stay the same length between knots.

9.        Once your ribbons are tied off, create a finished appearance by concealing the loose end of the ribbons (at the knots) with one of the beads that were threaded on earlier. To create the hanging loop, hold the ribbons like a purse strap in the center, thread a focal bead onto the ribbons pulling it down about 1".
