Hair Mousse and Reinkers

Wendy Stewart
Special Guest Artist

This process is more controlled and less messy than the Shaving Cream technique.

 Supplies:

  • Best of Cluck stamp set (Stampin' UP!)

  • Reinkers (Yoyo Yellow, Pumpkin Pie, Close to Cocoa, Really Rust)

  • Apricot Appeal Cardstock, cut to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (1) and 1 3/8" square (1)

  • Glossy White Cardstock, cut to 5 1/4" x 4" (1)

  • Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, punched or cut 1 3/8" square (2)

  • Yellow eyelet

  • Eyelet punch and setter

  • Close to Cocoa Classic Inkpad

  • Foam hair mousse

  • Krylon Acrylic Matte Spray Sealant

  • Glue or tape

  Instructions:

  1. Spread a thin coat of hair mousse onto glossy cardstock.

  1. Squirt 3 shades of reinkers onto wet mousse. Using metallic reinkers may result in a "glue-like" effect.

  1. Allow to set for 10 minutes.

  1. Heat with Heat Tool to melt remaining mousse.

  1. Dab with paper towel to absorb any remaining sticky ink and mousse.

  1. Spray with acrylic sealer.

  1. Take Apricot cardstock and score at 4 1/4" and fold in half.

  1. Mount the dried mousse background onto the apricot cardstock using tape or glue.

  1. Stamp the little chick on the 1 3/8" square.

  1. Layer the Pumpkin Pie and Apricot on the mousse background (refer to photo).

  1.  Fold up right corner of card approximately one inch.

  1. Punch hole for eyelet, insert eyelet and hammer into place.
