Altered Envelopes

By April Staker
Off Road Inkster

Intermediate Scramping Team Designer

We take a lot of trips to the zoo each year. As a result, it seems we have an abundance of pictures that are very similar. I decided instead of scrapping each photo, or throwing out any, I would make an envelope to match the page and tuck the extra photos inside. It was easy, fun, and so practical!

This is a very addictive technique. It comes in so handy on smaller album pages. And the uses are really endless! So grab an envelope and start playing!

Supplies:

Ink Pads: Palette Hybrid Noir, Burnt Umber, Reflection Blue, Water Lily Green (Stewart Superior)

Envelope (Close To My Heart)
Xyron Zots Clear Adhesive 3-D Dots (Thermoweb)

2. To alter your envelope, simply apply the layers of papers and cardstocks. Apply the rub-ons. Attach the tag with a spiral clip. You can embellish them even more with ribbons, charms, etc. It is so much fun to dress them up! Tuck your extra photos inside or use the envelope to hide private letters or journaling.

3. Using the chalks, color in the hippos. Blend the colors with a chalk applicator or q-tip.

4. Using the Watercolor pencils color in the giraffe. Dip a paintbrush in water to blend the colors.

5. Apply the rub-ons to the title tag.

6. Use the brads to attach the netting to your page and the title piece. Wrap twine through the netting to tie the tag on. Assemble the pieces as shown. Use 3-D dots to glue the Giraffe image to the page.
