Birds of a Feather Drink Coffee Together

By Becky Lemire

Rubber Roadsters
Intermediate Stamping & Scramping Team Designer

Supplies:

Bird, egg, swirl, saying rubber stamps (Time to Stamp)
Burnt Umber Palette Hybrid Ink Pad (Stewart Superior)
Nude Palette Hybrid Ink Pad (Stewart Superior)
Reflection Blue Palette Hybrid Ink Pad (Stewart Superior)
Eucalyptus Walnut Ink (Tsukineko)
Four Tumbled Marble Tiles (found at Menards)
Heat Tool (Marvy)

Instructions:

1.      Wipe the tiles clean of any dust.

2.      Ink egg stamp using the Reflection Blue Ink pad, swipe the Burnt Umber Ink pad around the edges of the egg stamp, huff (breathe on the inked stamp up close), stamp on the bottom left of the tile.  Repeat along the bottom of the tile.

3.      Ink the saying stamp with the Burnt Umber Ink and stamp in the upper left corner of the tile.

4.      Ink bird stamp with the Burnt Umber and stamp in the center of the tile.

5.      Ink swirl stamp with the Nude Ink pad and then run the Burnt Umber Ink pad along the edges of the inked up swirl stamp.  Stamp randomly in the open areas of the tile.

6.      Stamp the other three tiles using the same colors of ink and the same rubber stamps but vary the design for a nice set of coasters.  You can rub the edges of the tiles with an ink pad or leave them alone.  Heat set the tiles by using a heat gun and drying the ink on the tiles.

7.      Spray the Eucalyptus Walnut Ink over the entire tile (each of them).  Let the ink soak into the tile for a minute and then blot off the excess.  Use the heat gun to dry or let air dry overnight.  You can adhere cork to the bottoms of the tiles to prevent scratching your furniture.

Make a set for all of your friends and family!
