Rubber Inspiration Designer Challenge

Project One
Supplies:
A2 note card
Blue mulberry paper with silver tinsel inclusions (California
Paper Goods)
Acetate
Staz-On black ink (Tsukineko)
Impress Markers- Brights Collection
Black Gelly Glaze pen (Sakura)
O’ So Sticky Tape (Penny Wise Arts)
Rubber Impressions image
Directions:
-
Trim mulberry paper to 5 ½” x 4 ¼” and attach to note card.
-
Stamp image with Staz-On ink on to acetate. Let sit 5 minutes.
-
Outline flowers and leaves with Gelly glaze pen.
-
Color flowers and leaves on front side of acetate using markers.
-
Color background blue on back side of acetate.
-
Cut a rectangle of O’ So Sticky tape and attach to image back.
-
Adhere image to center of card.
Project Two:

Supplies:
A2 notecard
Staz-On black ink (Tsukineko)
Acetate
Black glossy cardstock (Marcos Paper)
White glossy cardstock (Marcos Paper)
Blue and green re-inkers
Shaving cream
Fru Fru Opal Flakes (Art Sanctum~Penny Wise Arts)
O’ So Sticky tape (Penny Wise Arts)
Adhesive jewels (source unknown)

Directions:
-
Spray shaving cream into a shallow dish.
-
Add two-three drops of each reinker color. Stir gently with a fork to create
patterns.
-
Lay white glossy paper—glossy side down—onto shaving cream. Press gently.
-
Remove paper and scrape shaving cream from surface. This will leave a lovely
pattern. Let dry completely.
-
Cut black glossy to 5 ½” x 4 ¼” and attach to note card.
-
Stamp image onto acetate with Staz-On black ink.
-
Place a rectangle of O’ So Sticky tape on the back side of image.
-
Press tape into Fru Fru Opal flakes and press firmly to adhere.
-
Place another rectangle of O’ So Sticky Tape on top of Fru Fru.
-
Cut a rectangle of green/blue paper to 2 ½” x 3 ½”.
-
Attach Fru Fru’d image to green/blue piece.
-
Cut a strip of green/blue and secure to the top of the note card.

Attach image piece to lower right as shown.
-
Add two small strips of glossy black cardstock to top of card as shown.
-
Add coordinating adhesive jewels.
Project Three:
Supplies:
A2 notecard
Peach handmade paper with natural inclusions (California Paper Goods)
Staz-On ink- Black (Tsukineko)
Acetate
Fru Fru Opal Flakes (Art Sanctum~Penny Wise Arts)
O’ So Sticky Tape (Penny Wise Arts)
Heavy (thick) white glitter (source unknown)
Clear star stickers (source unknown)

Directions:
-
Dampen handmade paper around 5 ½” x 4 ¼” and tear to size.

Attach to note card.

Stamp image on acetate with Staz-On ink.
-
Place a rectangle of O’ So Sticky tape on the back side of image.
-
Press tape into Fru Fru Opal flakes and press firmly to adhere.
-
Press into heavy white glitter as press firmly.
-
Place another rectangle of O’ So Sticky Tape on top of Fru Fru.
-
Attach to center of note card.
-
Add clear stickers as desired.
Project Four:

Supplies:
A2 notecard
Green patterned paper, white scrap, red scrap, yellow scrap (all sources
unknown)
Prismacolor Pencils
Gamsol
Blending stumps
Palette inks (Stewart Superior) in Noir and Burnt Sienna
Directions:
-
Stamp beaver onto tan scrap.
-
Color with chalk pencils and blend with blending stumps dipped in Gamsol.
-
Trim image and layer onto red and yellow papers as shown.
-
Attach 5 ¼” x 4” green paper to note card.
-
Stamp smaller images with Burnt Sienna ink as background.
-
Attach beaver to card front as shown.

Project Five:
Supplies:
A2 notecard
Green patterned paper, tan scrap, green scrap
(all sources unknown)
Pastel chalk pencils (The General) in neutrals
Green colored pencil (Prismacolor)
MicroGlaze (Sky Craft Design Inc)
Palette inks (Stewart Superior) Noir

Directions:
-
Stamp beaver onto tan cardstock.
-
Color with chalk pencils and blend. Add green colored pencil to grass.
-
Rub with MicroGlaze.
-
Tear around image leaving a large border.
-
Attach 5 ½” x 4 ¼” patterned paper to note card.

Attach green scrap paper as shown.
Secure beaver image to
card front.
