Herma Dotto Permanent Tape Runner (EK Success)

Instructions:

1.      Make an A2 size top fold card with the matte CS.  Mask off 1½” from the right edge and lightly sponge Olive Pastel chalk ink around the edges.  Randomly stamp the butterfly with the same ink twice each time before reinking.  Draw two stripes along the left edge of the sponged strip with the green marker.

2.      Make an alcohol inks applicator by attaching the Velcro and a felt square to the wood cube, stretching the felt onto the Velcro.  Put a few drops of all three alcohol inks and the blending solution onto the felt.  Dab a few dots of the gold leafing pen onto half of the white glossy CS and pounce the inks all over this half until you get the colors and you like.

3.      Add more blending solution to the same piece of felt and continue pouncing onto the remaining half of the same glossy sheet.  This will give you a much paler version of the first ‘inking’.

4.      Cut a 4” square from the darker half of the sheet.  Randomly stamp the butterfly all over the square with the Olive Pastel chalk ink.  You will have very subtle butterfly images when the chalk ink dries.  Edge the square with the green marker and set aside.

5.      Randomly drop the alcohol inks onto the front of the acrylic frame.  When dry, add gold leafing ink directly onto the applicator felt and a few drops of the blending solution.  Lightly dab the ink and solution on top of the inks until you’re happy with the colors.  Add a bead of yellow glitter glue along the top of the frame opening, covering the black edge.  Put a dot of gold glitter glue on each corner scallop.  Set aside to dry.

6.      Cut a 2⅜” square from the lighter alcohol inks side of the glossy CS.  Edge with the Olive Pastel chalk ink.  Stamp the butterfly, with the same ink, in the center of the square as shown, and then over-stamp to create a shadow.

7.      Attach the 4” square to the left side of the card.  Layer the butterfly square ‘on point’ in the center of the large square.  Peel the protective backing from the acrylic frame.  It may still be wet from the alcohol inks.  Let it dry, then attach it to the butterfly square with a Zots mini glue dot in each corner. Add a gold glitter glue dot over the corner scallops to help hide the glue dots.

8.      Cut a ¼ x 4¼” strip from the remaining alcohol inks paper and attach it to the center of the butterfly ‘strip’ created on the right side of the card.  Attach the large square brad to the center of the strip.  Embellish with alternating gold and yellow glitter glue dots on the strip and the gold brad.  Add gold glitter glue dots to the corners of the large square and at each corner of the acrylic frame as shown.
