Cracked Glass Technique
Hearts in Touch Designer Challenge

By: Stephanie Loomis

Happy Holidays!  Here is a holiday card to get you started on your Christmas wishes!

Supplies:

Stamp sets:
    Hearts in Touch
Ink:
    Weathered Wood Distress ink (Ranger)
    VersaFine Onyx Black (Tsukineko)
    Oil pencils
    Versa Mark (Tsukineko)
Paper:
    Basic Grey Periphery
    White glossy
    Bazzill Brick
Accessories:
    Ultra Think Embossing Enamel (Ranger)
    Heat tool
    Freezer

Directions:

1.      Stamp image on glossy cardstock with black VersaFine ink. Color with oil pencils.

2.      Cover entire piece with Versa Mark ink (directly from ink pad to paper)

3.      Sprinkle with Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel.

4.      Heat emboss from underneath until crystals on top begin to liquefy. Then heat from the top side. Let cool. Repeat this step 2-4 times.

5.      Put the piece in the freezer for at least 15 minutes. The longer left in the freezer, the better the crackly effect will be.

6.      Cut Periphery paper to 5 ½” x 4 ¼” and attach to a note card size 10”x7” folded in half.

7.      Remove image from freezer and bend until the UTEE cracks. Bend in multiple directions to create a pattern of fissures.

8.      Rub distress ink over the surface of the now cracked image. Wipe off with a paper towel and buff well. (The distress ink will come off the UTEE but will seep into the cracks.)

9.      Mount the image on red cardstock and then attach to the note card size 10”x7” folded in half.
