Amazing Altered Tags for the Holidays

This time the TAG takes center stage! Pair with a beautiful ribbon on a simple brown paper package and watch the reaction.

Tag One
Supplies:

•  Christmas Blessing (The Angel Company)
•  Palette Noir inkpad (Stewart Superior)
•  Opalite Golden Mist inkpad (Tsukineko)
•  Peeled Paint Distress inkpad (Ranger)
•  Sundance Chalk inkpad (TAC)
•  Luscious Lips red dye inkpad (TAC)
•  Shaker Tag (Paper Reflections)
•  Cosmetic sponges OR hydra sponges
•  Clip Art Flower (calendar print or clip art printed on glossy paper)
•  Red Shimmer Leaf Pen (Krylon)
•  Clear glass microbeads (Penny Wise Arts)
•  Colored hot glue (Jest Charming)
•  Glue Gun (Bostik)
•  Scotch Mounting Tape (3M)
•  Red eyelash yarn
•  Heat tool (Milwaukee) 

Instructions: 

1.    Sponge Peeled Paint Distress ink all over tag—all sides. 

2.    Sponge Sundance Chalk ink over front of tag and on Clip Art flower. 

3.    Sponge Luscious Lips ink around edges of tag and edge of Clip Art flower. 

4.    Sponge Opalite Golden Mist over entire tag and center of Clip Art flower. 

5.    Attach Clip art flower to tag base so that it shows through the acetate. 

6.    Outline Clip Art flower with Red Shimmer pen. Heat set. 

7.    Stamp sentiment with Black ink on top of tag as shown. 

8.    Outline Clip art with colored hot glue and let cool OR Outline with mounting tape.  (Colored hot glue adds interest and dimension from the side view.) 

9.    Sprinkle a scant 1/8 tsp. clear Microbeads onto card. 

10.  If using hot glue, add a second layer directly over the first. 

11. Seal Tag. 

12. Finish with eyelet yarn.

•  Christmas Blessings (TAC)

•  Opalite Golden Mist inkpad (Tsukineko)

•  Golden Wheat dye inkpad (TAC)
•  Luscious Lips red dye inkpad (TAC)
•  Teddy Bear Brown dye inkpad (TAC)
•  Versamark Embossing Inkpad (Tsukineko)

•  Shaker Tag (Paper Reflections)
•  White scrap cardstock
•  Clear or glitter Embossing Powder
•  Cosmetic sponges OR hydra sponges
•  Clear glass microbeads (Penny Wise Arts)
•  Colored hot glue (Jest Charming)
•  Glue gun (Bostik)
•  Mounting Tape
•  Gold Ribbon
•  Heat tool (Milwaukee)
•  Workable Fixative (Krylon)
•  Gold Leaf pen (Krylon)

Instructions: 

1.    Sponge Peeled Paint Distress ink all over tag—all sides. 

2.    Stamp Angel on white scrap cardstock and color, shading as shown or as desired. 

3.    Spray with Fixative. 

4.    Cover Angel with Embossing ink and Clear EP. Heat Emboss. 

5.    Trim Angel to fit inside shaker tag. 

6.    Sponge Golden Wheat ink over front of tag and on Angel. (Heat to set on Angel.) 

7.    Sponge Luscious Lips ink around edges of tag and edge of Angel. 

8.    Sponge Teddy Bear Brown ink around edges of tag and edge of angel. 

9.    Sponge Opalite Golden Mist over entire tag and center of Angel. 

10. Attach Angel to tag base so that it shows through the acetate. 

11. Stamp sentiment with Black ink on top of tag as shown. 

12. Outline Angel with colored hot glue and let cool OR Outline with mounting tape.  (Colored hot glue adds interest from the side view.) 

13. Sprinkle a scant 1/8 tsp. clear Microbeads into card. 

14. If using hot glue, add a second layer directly over the first. 

15. Seal Tag. 

16. Edge with Krylon gold leaf pen. 

17. Finish with ribbon.

Tag Three
Supplies:

•  Serenading the Moon (TAC)
•  Palette Noir inkpad (Stewart Superior)
•  Versamark Embossing Inkpad (Tsukineko)
•  Black Embossing Powder (B-Muse)
•  Flesh colored chalk pencil (General)
•  Yellow marker (Tombow)
•  Basic Grey Black Tie Large Tag
•  Ivory Speckled Cardstock cut to 4 Ό” x 2 Ύ” (source unknown)
•  Basic Grey Black Tie scraps
•  “Unhinged” Stickers (My Mind’s Eye)
•  Black ribbon with White Spots (source unknown) 

Instructions: 

1.    Stamp and black emboss “Angel in the Moon” on ivory cardstock. 

2.    Stamp “Angel in the Moon” on three different scraps of BG Black Tie paper. (These will be cut, so the entire image does not have to fit on each scrap.) 

3.    From one scrap (I used distressed gray), cut out the wings and hat. 

4.    From next scrap (I used distressed blue), cut out the dress. 

5.    From third scrap (I used dotted gray), cut out hat, violin, and shoes. 

6.    On embossed image, color in “Angel” face and arms with flesh chalk pencil. 

7.    Color “Moon” with yellow marker. 

8.    Piece and secure cut pieces to their corresponding parts on the embossed image as shown. 

9.    Secure image to large tag with silver hinge stickers. 

10. Finish with ribbon. 

11. Sign your art.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tag Four
Supplies:

•  Joyeux Noel (TAC)
•  Palette Noir inkpad (Stewart Superior)
•  Colored Pencils: #PC1022, PC925, PC1013, PC939 (Prismacolor)
•  IKanDee Chalks:  Pastels, Earth Tones, Basic Brights (Pebbles Inc)
•  Decorative white tag (source unknown)
•  O’So Sticky Tape SHEET (Penny Wise Arts)
•  Clear Glass Microbeads (Penny Wise Arts)
•  Gold Microbeads (Penny Wise Arts)
•  Ribbon 

Instructions: 

1.    Stamp angel image on tag with Palette Noir ink. 

2.    Color skin, lips, and eyes with pencils. 

3.    Color rest of image with chalks. 

4.    Cut a square of O’So Sticky tape sheet to fit over image.  Apply. 

5.    Cover image with clear microbeads. 

6.    Cut O’So Sticky tape to decorative ends of tag as shown. Apply. 

7.    Cover ends with gold microbeads. 

8.    Finish with Ribbon.

Tag Five
Supplies:

•  Winter Flakes (TAC)
•  Winter Flakes Limited Edition (TAC)
•  Kachina Chalk inkpad (TAC)
•  Graphite Black Brilliance inkpad (Tsukineko)
•  Glacier Blue Opalite inkpad (Tsukineko)
•  Mini Tag Accordion (The Paper Cut)
•  Mini Stapler
•  Six different ribbons in black and white (Various sources)
•  Letter Stickers “Aged and Confused Vagabond” (Basic Grey)
•  Dimensional Magic (Plaid)

Instructions: 

1.    Cut ribbon to 2 ½” lengths and notch ends. 

2.    Stamp snowflake shadows with Black Brilliance ink. 

3.    Using the direct to paper technique, apply Glacier Blue Opalite ink over entire accordion card. (The shimmer of blue will show up on the black.) 

4.    Sponge Glacier Blue Opalite ink onto ribbon pieces. 

5.    Overstamp large snowflakes with Kachina Chalk ink. 

6.    Stamp smaller snowflakes as shown. 

7.    Staple ribbons to tags as shown. 

8.    Spell out “Happy Holidays” with stickers as shown. 

9.    Using the direct to paper technique, apply Glacier Blue Opalite ink over lettering. 

10. Highlight letters with Dimensional Magic.
