Instructions:

Red cardstock

  1. Swipe the “12 x 12” page with the Brilliance Galaxy Gold pigment pad by applying it directly to the cardstock. Cut a piece of red cardstock to size: 2 ¾ “x 12”. Swipe the pad all over both pieces of cardstock.
  2. Sprinkle Gold Embossing powder all over the page, and return the rest of the embossing powder into the tidy tray.  Using the tidy tray, put the embossing powder back into the embossing powder jar.
  3. Heat emboss page with the heat tool.
  4. Cut a piece of black cardstock to size: 3 ½” x 12” and attach the embossed red strip of cardstock with Terrific Tacky Tape.
  5. Set aside items.

Faux Metallic Accents

  1. Cut four large pieces of thin cardboard that will fit through the Sizzix personal die cutter.
  2. Cut one set of die cuts using the Hearts, and Tags.  Cut two sets of Frames and Tags die cuts.
  3. Turn on melting pot and set it to the highest setting.  Pour 8 oz. of Black UTEE into the melting pot and cover with the lid.
  4. After the UTEE has melted, add in one tablespoon of UTEE Flex and allow to completely melt.  Then, slowly swirl mixture with a craft stick twice.   For the frames: Ink the Vine stamp with the Versamark pad and set aside.  Pour UTEE on one side of the frame.  This should be a large enough area for you stamp on. Then, quickly stamp into the melted UTEE and allow it to cool.
  5. Remove stamp and, since the UTEE is still warm, cut the excess UTEE from the frame.  Repeat step 4 with each side of the frame and, also, for the second frame.
  6. Apply metallic rub-ons to the frame with either your fingers or a Q-Tip.
  7. Spray the Frames with the Krylon Sealer.  I sprayed them twice.
  8. Set aside frames.
  9. For the hearts: I used two stamps from the Victorian Borders stamp set and placed them both on my acrylic block to use at the same time.
  10. Ink the stamps with the Versamark ink pad and set aside.  Using tweezers, pick up the end of the first heart and dip it into the melting pot.  Allow the excess UTEE to drip off and put the piece on the craft mat.
  11.  Stamp the Victorian Borders in the hot UTEE. Allow to cool and remove stamp. Carefully remove excess UTEE from the heart with your scissors.
  12. Repeat Steps 10-11 for the other hearts and the two tags (dip tags into the UTEE and stamp on them).
  13. Apply metallic rub-ons to the hearts and tags.  Create titles from the Dymo Label Maker and add those to the tags. For the tags: Apply metallic rub-on all over the tag.  Use a cloth rag to remove some of the metallic rub-on; it gives it an aged look.   Add eyelet stickers and brads to the tags.
  14. Spray the hearts and tags with the Krylon sealer and allow to dry.
  15. To finish page, attach items the cardstock strips to the large page.  Cut a 14” inch long piece of fiber, and add the middle of the cardstock and tape to the back of the cardstock.  Attach the hearts to page using hot glue gun.  Attach frames, tags, and labels to the page and your faux metallic accent page is complete!
