By Missy Cahoon
Hot Rod Scrampers
Advanced Scramping Team Designer

Supplies:

  Western stamp set (TAC)
Music Speaks stamp set (Stampin’ Up!)
  Music background (Stampin’ Up!)
  Foam stamp set (Wal-Mart)
  Black Beauty dye inkpad (TAC)
  Music patterned paper (unknown)
  Red card stock (Stampin’ Up!)
  Black card stock (Stampin’ Up!)
  Vanilla card stock (Stampin’ Up!)
  Paint Can
  Decoupage Finish (Royal Coat)
Red & white gingham ribbon (unknown)
  Black ribbon (Wal-Mart)
  Silver organdy ribbon (Stampin’ Up!)
  Silver Wire (unknown)
  Gold embossing power (Ranger)
  Gold Paint Pen (Krylon)
  Black Acrylic Paint (Plaid)
  Rectangle hole punch  (Fiskars)
  Tacky Glue (Aileen’s)
  Adhesive (Wal-Mart)
  Foam brush  (Michael’s)

Instructions:

1.    First, stamp paper with the two stamp sets randomly, and then emboss images randomly to create a background sheet over top of the music patterned paper.

2.    Stamp boots and hats on red card stock using black dye ink, cut out. Color buckles in with gold Krylon pen.

3.    To make the tag on top of the paint can, cut a tag to size 2”x4.” Rear off the top of a 2x4 piece of vanilla card stock and stamp with the music background stamp. Punch with the rectangle punch and make a bow with the silver organdy ribbon. Attach the stamped vanilla piece of card stock using adhesive. Make a music note out of wire by bending and shaping into place. (I don’t know how I did it, I just did!).  Glue music note on the top using tacky glue.

4.    Stamp title on vanilla card stock using black acrylic paint and foam letters. Let dry.

5.    Ok, you are ready to assemble. Paint one coat of decoupage all over the lid and outside of can using a foam brush. Start ripping paper and sticking it to the wet layer of decoupage. Cover the whole can & lid and let dry.

6.    Add another layer of decoupage on top of the paper.

7.    Add another layer of cut outs, pictures, title, etc. and then apply another layer of decoupage.

8.    Add ribbon around top and bottom of can. Apply another layer of decoupage.

9.    After all of your pictures and embellishments are decoupaged on the can, allow to dry completely. After it is dry, it is easier to see if everything on the can is covered completely. If not, re-apply another coat of decoupage;  4 to 5 coats were use for this project.
