Altered Rolodex Card

Ronda Sydnor (The Queen of Simply Elegant)
Magic Stampin’ Bus
Newbies Stamping Team Designer

The Rolodex Card system brings new meaning to ATCs (Artist Trading Cards).  This technique makes storing and flipping through these little art gems simple.

Supplies:

•  Distressed Bet (TAC)
•  Black Beauty Ink Pad (TAC)
•  3”x5” Rolodex refill Card (Rubbermaid)
•  Pattern Paper; 2 pieces; cut to size: 3 x 2 1/2” each (Gin-X)
•  Pink blossom
•  Ribbon; 2 pieces; cut to 2” each (American Crafts Elements)
•  Corner rounder punch (EK Success)
•  Staples
•  Stapler
•  Photo cropped to 2” x 2 1/2”
•  Paper Trimmer (Fiskars)
•  X-Acto Knife
•  Easy Stick Double Stick Adhesive Runner (Henkel/Duck)

Instructions

  1. Adhere patterned paper to Rolodex Card using Easy Stick Runner. One piece will slightly overlap the other. Use a corner rounder punch on all four corners.

  1. Ink around the entire piece using Black Beauty. Flip the Rolodex Card over to the reverse side and cut out slots using the X-Acto knife.

  1. Adhere photo to the right hand side of the card, slightly angled. Lay ribbon beside photo and staple in place.

  1. Ink up alphas using Black Beauty and stamp on the bottom left hand side. Place blossom in top left corner and staple in an ‘X’.

A Simply Elegant project is completed!

***Note:  These instructions are for altering the front side of the card, but the flip side can be covered with patterned paper as well.  To do this, attach paper to the front side of the Rolodex Card.  Cut out slots on the reverse side.  Cover the reverse side with patterned paper and cut out slots from the front side. Use a corner rounder punch on all for corners.
