Faux Centerfold Card - Autumn Medley

By Casey Cholaki
Rubber Roadsters
Advanced Stamping Team Designer

I love autumn! The gold, russet, and orange colors remind me of harvest time and bright bonfires soon to take place in the following month. Meanwhile, Sunflowers are still standing in straight rows with their golden heads following the last of summer's rays.   The Sunflower image used for this project is retired.  However,
any medium sized Sunflower stamp can be substituted. Hope you enjoy this easy to do "Fall" card incorporating the melody of colors for autumn.

Supplies:

Sunflower Stamp-Retired (Arleen's Studio)
Harvest Pumpkin Pie Ink Pad (Ranger Industries)
Bluish White Cardstock
Yellow cardstock; cut to size: 6” x 8 ¼"
Orange cardstock; cut to size:  1”x ¾"
Wine red cardstock; cut to size:  2"x2”
Wine Red cardstock; cut to size: 6” x ¼"
Square punch
Metal ruler and scissors
Yellow, Brown and Light Green Galaxy Colored Markers (American Crafts)
Wine & Tan Raffia plus
Alphabet stickers for the word Fall (American Traditional Designs)
Artificial fall silk leaves (Michael’s)
Scotch Double Stick Tape (3M)

Instructions:

1. Begin by stamping your sunflower image on two separate pieces of bluish-white cardstock.

2. Take a piece of orange cardstock and use your punch or scissors to create a square out of your stamped image.  Outline this square with a brown marker.

3. Frame the sunflower piece with a square of orange cardstock cut with a ¼” border around it. Frame the orange cardstock with a piece of wine red cardstock cut with a ¼” border around it.

4. Measure the yellow cardstock 2 ¾" from the left and fold. It will now look like your card has a centerfold. Take the 6 ½" wine red piece of cardstock and adhere it ½" in to the left side of the card. Adhere the artificial leaves and raffia in place.

5. Adhere the sunflower image squares at an angle overlapping the edge of the card's fold.  Apply the stickers to spell "Fall" referring to the photo for placement.

Hope you enjoy using fall colors as much as I do. Until next time this is Casey hoping to hear from you and ...
