Collaged Flower Punchies
By
Wanda Troupe
When I discovered
scrapping, punches were among some of my first supplies that kept finding their
way into my hands to come home with me. Over time, they seem to sit alone on the
shelf more and more often. I do tend to use my circle and square punches more Supplies Beautiful
Butterflies (TAC) Instructions: 1. Mat pictures with white cardstock leaving 1/8 border on all sides. Sponge edges with black ink to add depth. 2. Trace curve from a mixing bowl onto black cardstock with pencil. Cut along line to create the black border for left side. Dry brush both background pieces as well as the black border with white paint creating a distressed look. 3. Using butterfly stamps and Moulin Rouge ink, create a collaged 8-1/2x11 sheet to use for flower and random strips. Sponge with ink to fill in white areas.
4.
Punch the following circles from the finished collage sheet (for each
flower):
(6) 1-1/4 circles 5. Take a piece of white scrap paper and sponge it with Moulin Rouge ink, covering completely. Punch one Ύ circle for center of flower. 6. Glue a Ύ circle punch on each 1-1/4 punch aligning to the right side. Arrange the six 1-1/4 circle punches in a circle, overlapping each petal. Glue together. Glue solid Ύ circle punch in the center, then a collaged ½ circle punch on top of that.
7.
Using the mini hand hole punch, make hole in center of flower attach
gold brad. 8. Attach lace to left side of black border with glue dots. Stamp words using Embossed Label Block alphabets using Moulin Rouge ink onto white cardstock scraps and cut out leaving about an 1/8 border. Glue to black border. 9. Adhere picture to background placing left side slightly under black mat. Glue 2.5x5.75 collaged strip under right side of picture. Glue a 3.25x1.75 strip in the center horizontally of vertical strip, aligned with right side of background. Stamp words with Antique Lower alphabets using black ink on horizontal piece. 10. Print journaling on white cardstock and cut to 8.5x2.5 and glue to bottom of page. Glue flowers to background as desired.
11.
Arrange three pictures on background, but dont permanently glue them
down yet you will need to place collaged strips underneath them. Place one
lone 2x10.5 strip vertically, centered under the middle picture. Place a
smaller 2x2.5 strip horizontally behind the top right of picture. Place
another 2x2.5 strip horizontally behind the lower left of picture. Stamp words
with Antique Lower alphabets using 12. Adhere lace to corners with glue dots. Glue flowers to top right and bottom left corners. (*NOTE: I used several combinations of different size circle punches to obtain the different size flowers on this layout. The medium size flower was created with six Ύ circles and a ½ circle for the center. The smallest flower was created with six ½ circles and a Ό circle for the center. I used the smaller gold brads on these for the centers.) You can change the look of these flowers with small variations. 4 Layer with different size circles 4 Dont layer at all 4 Use patterned paper 4 Outline circles with one of the Krylon paint pens 4 Emboss some of your images for a dramatic flare 4 Use multiple colors The options are infinite! These little collaged flowers can be a very simple way to dress up that special layout or card.
