Flexible Microscope Slide Sun Catcher By
Janine La Luz SUPPLY LIST: •
Flexible microscope slide INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Cut flexible microscope slide into three equal parts. 2. Create three cold transfers with magazine clippings by laying a piece of clear packaging tape over the image. Burnish tape down using bone folder or craft stick. Place tape and magazine clipping in a sink of warm water and let soak for a few minutes. Remove from water and rub the paper from the back of the tape, being careful not to scratch the image. Let dry and trim to the same size as your microscope slide pieces. 3. Attach transfers to microscope pieces with clear drying glue and allow to dry. 4. Punch one hole in the top center of one of the slide pieces. 5. Punch two holes in the bottom of the first microscope slide piece. 6. Punch two holes each at the top and bottom of the remaining slide pieces. 7. Heat up a small amount of UTEE in the hot pot. Quickly dip the edges of each microscope slide piece into the UTEE to create a faux soldered edge. You must do this very quickly to avoid melting the microscope slide. 8. Attach pieces together using interlocking jump rings. 9. Thread two bead pins with an arrangement of beads. Create a loop at the top of each bead pin and attach to bottom of sun catcher using jump rings. 10. Create a spiral hook from thick gauge wire and attach to the top of the sun catcher with a jump ring.
