Direct to Paper By
Annette Brisse
Supplies:
Camping stamp set (TAC) Instructions: 1. Use the Sizzix die and cut out four frames with your machine, using the dark green cardstock. 2. Cut
your cardstock to the following size: 3. Place your dark green frames on scratch paper and using your haystack pad, and then black pad rub across the surface of the dark green cardstock to create the camouflage background. When the frames are finished, do the same technique of rubbing the pads over the outside 1 all around each full 8 1/2 x 11 of the two sheets of dark green cardstock. 4. Take the frames one at a time, with one picture and using double stick tape adhere the frame over the picture. Trim away excess. Repeat this with each of your pictures. 5. Open your writing program on the computer, and type in different fonts, the four armed forces, across the bottom on a page and print that onto your kraft cardstock. Repeat this process with your title (which is Armed Forces Day on this layout). 6. On white sheet of cardstock or copy paper, print out your journaling and tear the edges. When the desired size is achieved, repeat the direct to paper to 'camouflage' the white cardstock, or paper. Also print out the names for what you will place under the metallic accents. 7. On White cardstock, stamp your boots and binoculars, in the Black Noir palette pad, and using your chalk pencils color them both. Using your fingertip or a small cotton ball, blend the colors of chalk pencil you used to color the images. Cut them out and adhere them to the corners of the frames. 8. Using your metallic accents, adhere them over the names you printed out. (I used the Private Brisse) and trim. Thread the metallic cording through the metallic accents holes and tie to create dog tags. 9. Place your spiral clips onto the corners of the frames, position them so that they will not damage a picture. 10. Push your silver mini brads through your cardstock, for metallic embellishments. 11. To put it all together, layer the pages of kraft onto the dark green inky edged cardstock with double stick tape or your adhesive of choice. 12. Adhere your photos in frames onto the kraft cardstock, allowing for some overlapping. Place your pieces of journaling over the edges of the frames, and adhere them to the pages. Last, stick your dog tags to the layout, and you are finished!
