Fabric Stamping
By
April Staker Fabric
Stamping is a great way to justify saving all of those seemingly Supplies
Autumn Leaves Stamp Set (TAC) Instructions 1. Cut your cardstock, photos and paper to the following dimensions:
Antique Red:
White Cardstock:
Brown Cardstock: 2. To make Walnut Ink with a hint of red, mix ¼ teaspoon of walnut crystals in a spray bottle with 2 ounces of hot water. Put the lid on and shake to mix well. Then add 20 drops of ink from a Luscious Lips re-inker. Mix well. The Fabric Stamping Technique: Just a comment- These instructions may not be accurate for stamping on fabric that will be washed. Knowing that I won’t be washing my scrapbook pages I disregarded any instructions on making the inks washable! 3. Using your Noir Ink Pad ink the Ancient Map. Lay face up on your work surface. Carefully lay the fabric face down onto the inked stamp. Gently rub with your fingers to stamp the image onto the fabric. The fabric will want to slide around a bit so hold it carefully with one hand and rub with your other hand. You may prefer stamping as you usually would for cardstock, I didn’t feel confident that I would get a great image that way so I flipped it upside down. 4. Heat set the ink with your heat gun. (This is not required- it just speeds up the process). 5. Arrange your Provence pad in a pattern you like for fall foliage colors. Ink the Maple Leaf and randomly stamp onto the fabric. You will be going over the map you stamped previously. 6. Heat set the ink with your heat gun. (This is not required- it just speeds up the process). 7. Line up your Title (backwards) onto an acrylic block. Ink with the Noir Ink Pad and stamp onto the fabric. Repeat with your subtitle. 8. Heat set the ink with your heat gun. (This is not required- it just speeds up the process). 9. Trim your photos to fit onto the page as shown. 10. Spray the Walnut Ink onto the tags and some scrap white cardstock. (See my Walnut Ink Technique for tips on how to do this.) Heat set to speed up the drying process. 11. Cut a piece of ribbon 5 ¼” long. Run it through a Ribbon Charm. Apply this to the top of the Fabric with Zots Dots. 12. Attach your photos to the Right side of the Left page. Attach your main photo to its photo mats. Pierce a hole through the Top Left and Bottom Right corners. Use a brad to attach a photo anchor into each hole. Attach to the page. 13. Use Zots Dots to attach the fabric to the page. 14. Following the instructions on the package apply Rub Ons to the page and the scrap cardstock you sprayed with Walnut Ink. 15. Trim the walnut inked scrap to fit inside the Bookplate. Use Brads to attach it to the page. 16. Print your journaling onto the Journal Mat and two of the tags. 17. Ink the Ancient Map with Rocky Mountain ink. Stamp onto the third tag. Spell out your Tag Title (backwards) onto a block. Ink with Noir ink and stamp over the map on the tag. Tear the bottom of the tag. 18. Apply a Rub On to the tag. 19. Cut a piece of ribbon 6 ½” long. Tie a knot off center. Using a Steel Ball Chain attach the tags to the ribbon. 20. Ink the edges of the Journal Block with Rocky Mountain ink and a makeup sponge. 21. Using Zots Dots attach the ribbon to the mesh. Use the Dots to attach the mesh (under the ribbon) to the page. Attach the photos and journaling block as shown.
