Pearl Ex & Liquid Floor Wax Color Application
By
Becky Lemire Supplies:
Instructions 1. Cut all cardstock and paper to sizes listed above in the supply list. 2. Place large lady stamp on 4 3/4" x 4 3/4" acrylic block. Ink up with Black Beauty ink pad and stamp on the center of the vellum piece. Cover with clear embossing powder and heat until melted. Repeat this with the other 2 ladies on a 3" x 3" acrylic block as shown in photo. 3. With your waterbrush filled with Future liquid floor wax, dip the brush into the container of antique Silver Pearl Ex and use the lid as a palette. Color as you would with watercolors. Apply color to the skirt of the lady on the left and the whole star dress on the right. To clean off your brush, just wipe clean on a scrap piece of paper or paper towel. 4. Dip the clean waterbrush in the Duo Red-Blue Pearl Ex and color the top of the lady on the left and the center lady as shown in photo. Clean off brush and dip into the Red Russet and go over what you just colored in this step. The colors blend nicely and will give you a deeper pink layered look. Clean off brush. As long as you keep your brush covered tightly, there should be no problem leaving the floor wax in that waterbrush. I have a few of them designated for different mediums (water, floor wax and bleach). 5. Using vellum tape, adhere the vellum piece to the 10 3/4 x 4 1/2" piece of black cardstock. Attach that to the large silver cardstock using double stick tape. 6. Attach your photos to the smaller black pieces of cardstock and then to the smaller pieces of silver cardstock as shown using double stick tap. 7. Attach the vellum layered piece to the bottom of the 12 x 12 black cardstock centered left to right. 8. Taking your piece of tulle, tie a knot in the center and glue with tacky glue to the top half of the 12 x 12 black cardstock. Center top to bottom and left to right. 9. Using the "haute couture" definition stamp on a 2 x 2" acrylic block, ink up with Platinum Planet Brilliance Ink and stamp randomly across the top of the 12 x 12” black cardstock (above the tulle). 10. Adhere your photo layers on the left and right side of the knot as shown in the photo using double stick tape. You may have to maneuver the tulle edges a little to get the tape stuck down tightly. Now trim your edges of the tulle so that it is even with your page. 11. Stamp the lady stamp shown on the center of the page (mounted to a 3” x 3" acrylic block) using Platinum Planet Brilliance Ink. Allow to dry and color in the top with Antique Silver Pearl Ex using the same method as above. Now color the skirt first using the Interference Purple Pearl Ex, then the Interference Red Pearl Ex, and finally with the Red Russet Pearl Ex. 12. The final step is to glue down your jewels as shown using tacky glue.
